There are plenty of beginner guitar books. The vast majority of them are designed to be easily understood by anyone with a 3rd grade reading level, and offer little more than a few basic chords.

The problem is that most of these simple methods don’t teach the beginner beyond the 3rd fret – or if they do, they are given the impression that playing higher up the fretboard is all about struggling with barre chords.

Advanced guitar for the Total Beginner is intended to open the door to essential elements of making music on the guitar with a unique approach that builds on conventional music theory and presents the fretboard as a whole right from the start.

If all you want is to learn a few simple tunes, this is not the book for you. However, if you want to start out with a solid foundation so you can play and understand all kinds of music, Advanced Guitar for the Total Beginner will get you there.
