A butterfly flapping its wings can change the path of a hurricane. Although this insect is small, it has the ability to completely change our surroundings through this powerful action all on its own. This is similar to how students in this Intercultural Communication class are working to change the world through their writings. Every student comes from a different background and has values and beliefs that are very special to them. For some, they fight for the Black Lives Matter Movement, while others focus on womens rights, Islamophobia, or youth violence in communities across the United States. Each writer takes the reader into their world and encourages the audience to become part of the change that is needed in our world. These writers hope their words will speak to the readers and encourage them to think deeper about the challenges they face each day .
