Did you know Hong Kong has more outdoor basketball courts than any city in the world? Shooting Hoops is the culmination of photographer Austin Bell’s project to catalogue and photograph all 2,549 of them. The book takes you on a visual journey through Hong Kong’s 18 distinct districts, highlighting the city’s varied topography through its ubiquitious playing fields for basketball. Shown from an aerial perspective, the courts’ vibrant designs and stark flatness contrast with the endless vertical density of the city. After scouring the city for every hidden court, Bell is sure to show you a new side of Hong Kong in Shooting Hoops.
