The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig A Haunting Gothic Romantasy of Prophecy, Magic, and Forbidden Fate

From bestselling author Rachel Gillig, creator of the beloved Shepherd King duology, comes The Knight and the Moth, a darkly enchanting gothic fantasy romance filled with prophecy, ancient gods, mysterious knights, and a heroine whose visions may change the fate of an entire kingdom.

Sybil Delling has spent nearly a decade serving as a Diviner within the towering walls of Aisling Cathedral. Alongside five other foundling girls, she receives prophetic visions from powerful beings known as Omens, offering glimpses of the future to those who seek answers. Bound to a life of ritual, sacrifice, and devotion, Sybil has never questioned the world she has always known.

Everything changes when a mysterious knight named Rodrick Myndacious arrives. Unlike everyone else, he refuses to place his faith in prophecy, challenging the beliefs that have shaped Sybil’s entire existence. But when the other Diviners begin to disappear and dark secrets emerge from within the cathedral, Sybil is forced to leave the safety of her cloister and embark on a dangerous journey with the one man whose future she cannot see.

As ancient truths unravel and hidden forces threaten the kingdom of Traum, Sybil must confront unsettling questions about faith, destiny, and the gods she has always served. Along the way, an unexpected connection grows between prophetess and knight, blurring the line between duty and desire.

Atmospheric, lyrical, and richly imagined, The Knight and the Moth delivers everything readers love about gothic romantasy: eerie cathedrals, sentient gargoyles, forbidden romance, dangerous quests, and haunting magic.
