About Under a Blood Red Sky By Annemari van Niekerk

A moving, brutally honest memoir exploring love, violence, and complicity in South Africa. The author returns from Europe to bury her gentle friend Ruben, murdered in a farm killing. This triggers memories of earlier journeys, with her deeply conservative father, and her forbidden relationship with a black colleague. Even here, violence intruded. Frank and fearless, Van Niekerks exploration of guilt and innocence, and the fine line between them, will haunt you.
